Shadow Fire By Christine Feehan Review

Updated: Sep 24, 2022

4 Stars

Elie Archambault has agreed to an arranged marriage because the woman he loves has rejected him. To save himself the heartbreak he decides to marry a stranger and move on with his life. Little does he know he might get what he wants after all.

Elie has been in love with Brielle Couture since she was a teen and he told himself she was off-limit to him but when she comes back into his life he vows to not let her get away this time.

There was just the right amount of build-up in their relationship and I really enjoyed how much they valued open and honest communication in the relationship. I hate when authors use that to create conflict that does not need to be there so I found that refreshing to not see it being used that way.

This book is number seven in a series but in all honesty can be read as a standalone. Christine gives you enough background to understand what is going on in the story as a newcomer and you never feel lost. Some times things are repeated too much for my liking but I understand that she is trying to get everyone up to speed if they did not read the other books.

Final thoughts - This book has some VERY steamy scenes and if you like that you will love this book. Only reason I gave this a 4 and not 5 is that some of the set up seemed long-winded.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
